Automobiles in German City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Authorities stated they were alerted by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish substance

Around fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Cars, walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers say they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials state early analysis show the substance was likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; authorities are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials stated they were working "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for tips.

An important political figure commented the incident left him stunned and had to be solved promptly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
